Sunny Strains: The Best Weed for your Summer Fun
Hey there folks! Hard to believe we made it out of that dreary little winter, but here we are, ready to engage in some summer shenanigans. We Northumberland dwellers have even more reason to be delighted since we live in the best summer communities in Ontario, bar none. As your only locally grown cannabis retailer we figured we’d dedicate this week to taking a look at some different strains of flower that will help you make the most out of your seasonal good times. So, whether your idea of living it up in the summer is hanging out on the Cobourg Beach or posting up on the couch and gaming away the day, these strains will make the experience just a little bit better.
Cuban Linx
First up, we’ve got a store favorite, Tribal’s Cuban Linx. If you’ve shopped with us before you’ve undoubtedly heard the good word about this absolute baller of a sativa strain. If not trust me, it’s ludicrously good. A 60/40 sativa, this guy is perfect for any time of day and almost any activity. It gives an energetic high without the anxiety that can sometimes come from a high THC sativa. For added terpene goodness, try it out the Cuban Linx Live Resin vape cartridge!
Best paired with: Anything really! This is one of those can’t go wrong strains that is perfect for amplifying whatever experience you’re having. Personally my preference with this strain is to smoke a bunch of it, lay down in the back yard and soak up some sun while I read a good book.
Mango Haze
Need to spend a summer day being productive? Then you need a low THC sativa that lets your dip your toe into euphoria without submerging yourself entirely in it. You need Mango Haze. I have quietly referred to this strain as “smoke up and clean your house weed” more than a few times and I feel the moniker fits.
Best paired with: Any activity that requires that you still have some kind of clarity of mind. Got a list of summer chores that need to be done but wanna enjoy doing them? A combination of low THC and CBD will help get your there. There are a few other strains that offer this cannabinoid combo but for our money, Mango Haze is one of the best.
Crab Cakes
This one is for those who want a high THC sativa experience that will have you tasting sounds. Crab Cakes by Skosha has proven to be one of the most consistently popular sativa strains we’ve ever had in the store and for good reason: it has enough THC content to slap the sense out of you and leave you in a euphoric state of near bliss.
Best paired with: This is one of those strains that’s best paired with an activity that you don’t mind doing while intoxicatingly high. Roll up some Crab Cakes, smoke it with your buddies, hit up Victoria Park and rock some ultimate frisbee like a cool kid. Or if you aren’t feeling sociable, this is a good one for sitting at the marina and zoning out while you think deep thoughts about life, love and whether or not Billy Mayes was as cheerfully awesome in real life as he was in all of those Oxiclean commercials.
Death Vader
Now for something completely different. Death Vader by Kwall is a hard hitting, high terpene indica that will lock you in place like a ball and chain while it takes you spelunking into the darkest recesses of your THC addled brain. Bred by some of the best smarty pants growers on the market, this cross of D-star and Bubba Kush will leave your thoughts swirling while you bask in its earthy, spicy and skunky taste.
Best Paired With: This is a great strain for doing nothing, which is often one of the greatest summer activities one can engage in. If your idea of a summer delight is melting into your couch while marathoning episodes of Hell’s Kitchen, I highly recommend you check this strain out.
And that rounds out the list of some of the best strains to try that will add a little extra spice to your Northumberland summer experience. Stay frosty cool cats!
