Best Resources for Growing your Cannabis Knowledge

‍ ‍

Hey folks! It’s time once again for more cannabis news, knowledge and tips from Cobourg’s one and only locally owned cannabis retailer. We answer a lot of questions about cannabis as part of our day to day here at Circa 1818, it comes with the territory and we’re happy for any opportunity to feel smart. That being said, in the interest of equipping our beloved customers and neighbors with everything they need to become canna-experts themselves, this week we’re going to be going through a list of useful resources that can help you get there. So, without further ado, here is a list of some of the best resources to help you grow your cannabis know-how! (Note: I’m only going to be listing online resources, since they tend to be the most accessible.)

‍ ‍

Strain Information

‍ ‍

If you’re someone who likes to learn more about the history of different cannabis strains and the effects that you can expect when imbibing them, there are a couple of really handy websites we can recommend. Leafly.ca is a popular website that not only lists the myriad different strains that are available on the regulated market but also where you can find them through their handy list of nearby stores.

‍ ‍

In the same vein, there is another website called weedmaps.com which, as its name implies, serves the primary function of helping you find nearby stores and deals that can help save you a bit of money! Both websites are great options if you want an all-in-one option to seek out specific strains or special offers in your area.

‍ ‍

Data Based Information

‍ ‍

If you’re a nerd like me (and let’s be honest, if you aren’t, why are you reading a cannabis blog?), you probably like looking at tables containing vast quantities of data gathered by a tireless algorithm. No? Just me? Anyway, if you are so inclined, the government of Canada has you covered with a section of their website dedicated to cannabis market data. Just pop onto https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada and search up cannabis, the market data is there and kept relatively up to date; allowing you to see what the most popular categories are for cannabis consumers across our glorious nation. This is also one of the few areas I would venture into for health-related data when it comes to cannabis. Any info they present is based on empirical evidence and is extensively sourced.

‍ ‍

Latest Research

‍ ‍

Finally, for those seeking out the latest science-based developments in cannabis and don’t mind sifting through massive numbers of articles, we have https://link.springer.com/journal/42238/articles , a handy little website that publishes the Journal of Cannabis Research. Here you can find a veritable clown car worth of some of the latest research regarding our good friend cannabis. It’s worth a read if you like to stay in the know!

‍ ‍

And that about wraps up our quick rundown of some of the online resources you can use to begin (or continue) gleaning the information you need to shop and consume with a little more confidence. Till next time folks!
